Tenaros came out of fifteen years spent on the other side of the table. As an adviser inside an insurer. As a planner inside a bank. Running an advisory firm.
The pattern
It was identical everywhere.
Capable families, serious money, and a set of arrangements nobody could see all of at once. Fees buried three layers down in products that were sold rather than chosen. Committees where the only person with a view was the person with something to sell. Deals accepted on a Tuesday because the deadline was Friday and there was nobody independent to ask.
None of that requires anyone to behave badly. It only requires that every person in the room is paid by somebody, and nobody is paid to look at the whole thing.
So we built a company that is paid to look at the whole thing, and paid by nobody else.
